Connect ChatGPT
Add Bauhow as a custom MCP app in ChatGPT Developer mode.
ChatGPT adds custom MCP servers as apps. Setup takes place in the web app and currently requires a Pro, Plus, Business, Enterprise, or Education account.
Setup
Prepare Bauhow
Make sure MCP is enabled under Settings → Workspace → MCP server and copy the MCP server URL https://mcp.bauhow.com/mcp.
Enable Developer mode
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode. An admin may need to allow this feature first in a managed workspace.
Create an app
Open Settings → Plugins or go directly to chatgpt.com/plugins. Select the plus button and create a Developer-mode app.
Enter the server
Use Bauhow as the name, paste the URL into MCP server URL, and choose OAuth as the authentication method. You do not need a client ID or client secret.
Authorize the workspace
Select Create. Sign in in the Bauhow window, choose the workspace on the Allow access page, and approve.
Use it in a chat
Open Developer mode from a chat’s plus menu and enable the Bauhow app for that conversation.
First test
Use only the Bauhow app. List the available Bauhow tools and explain in one
sentence which tools can change data.
You can then use an example prompt with a project ID.
Troubleshooting
- The app shows no tools: Open the app details in ChatGPT and refresh its tool list.
- OAuth does not start: Confirm that the URL is exactly
https://mcp.bauhow.com/mcpand that OAuth is selected as the authentication method. - Workspace cannot be selected or access is denied: Have MCP enabled in the relevant Bauhow workspace and reconnect the app.
- The app is missing in chat: Select Developer mode from the plus menu and explicitly enable Bauhow.
